Baked Ravioli With Meat Sauce

I used my meat sauce recipe so you will make more sauce than you need.

1/2 onion, chopped
1 clove garlic, minced
1 16-oz can tomato sauce
3 16-oz cans whole tomatoes, puor out juice and puree
1/2-1 t. pepper
salt to taste
dash of cayenne (optional)
1-2 T. sugar
2 t. basil leaves
2 t. oregano
1 bay leaf
1 lb. ground beef, browned

1/2 of a 27.5 or 30-oz package frozen cheese-filled ravioli
1 c. shredded mozzarella cheese.

Brown onion and garlic. Add the next ten ingredients and simmer, uncovered, for a couple of hours.

Spoon 1/3 of the meat sauce into a 2-quart square baking dish. Arrange frozen ravioli atop the meat sauce. Sprinkle with 1/2 c. mozzarella cheese. Top with the remaining sauce.

Bake, covered, in a 350˚ oven for 40-45 minutes or until pasta is tender. Uncover and sprinkle with remaining cheese. Bake about 5 minutes more or till cheese melts.
